The Association for Volunteer Services is a non-governmental organization established in 1998 “to promote, facilitate, and improve volunteering and community service throughout Lebanon and beyond” through workshops, publications, and consulting services. Dr. Patricia Mihaly Nabti (sister of Dr. Mihaly) is the founder and Director of AVS and author of its book, Learning to CARE: Education, Volunteering, and Community Service, the only comprehensive manual to help schools develop service programs. It has been sold to specialists in volunteering and school service worldwide.  AVS has been the National Lead Agency for Global Youth Service Days in Lebanon since 2001 and the National Representative for the International Association for Volunteer Effort since 2002. Copies of Learning to CARE will be available at the performances for the discounted price of $30 (cost online is $35 plus postage).
