Action Without Borders
Action Without Borders
is a global network of individuals and organizations working to build a
world where all people can live free and dignified lives. Its work is
guided by the common desire of its members and supporters to find
practical solutions to social and environmental problems, in a spirit of
generosity and mutual respect. The site provides resources for
non-profit organizations, information about volunteer opportunities, and
a list of organizations promoting global volunteering
International Educational Exchange: International Volunteer Projects
International Volunteer Projects are designed as short-term volunteer
experiences that make it easy for nearly everyone to get out there and
make a difference in the world (minimum age: 18). With so many projects
and countries to choose from, the possibilities for designing your own
personalized international experience are endless.
International Partnership for Service-Learning
IPS-L programs, offered in 14 countries, unite
academic study and volunteer service, giving students a fully integrated
study abroad experience. The service
enlivens the formal learning, and the learning informs the service. Both
students and the host communities benefit from the substantial service
each student gives. By studying at a local university and serving 15-20
hours per week in a school, orphanage, health clinic or other agency
addressing human needs, students find their knowledge of the host
culture--and of themselves-- take on greater depth and meaning.
Worldwide Volunteer Directory
Explore all the great opportunities for volunteering worldwide.
PlanetEdu's worldwide volunteer directory provides volunteer
opportunities such as social work and health education. Programs are
offered in several regions of the world in several terms from a few
weeks to a few years.
Worldwide Volunteering for Young People
Over 800 organisations already promote their volunteer placements
through the WWVol database, bringing their activities to the notice of
many more potential volunteers. We concentrate on full-time placements
lasting anything from one week to a year or more. We do not include very
short term or occasional opportunities, details of which are best
accessed by local information providers. All our organisations have
opportunities for 16 - 25 year olds though most also have placements for
older or younger volunteers.
